Mercedes-Benz opens Changi airport boutique
Motor company DaimlerChrysler opened Asia/Pacific's first Mercedes-Benz boutique at Singapore Changi airport yesterday. Located at terminal two, the boutique occupies a space of 114sq m (1,226sq ft).
The new boutique at Changi is the world's first in an international airport, and the first outside the company's home city of Stuttgart, Germany.
The store offers Mercedes "three-pointed star" merchandise based on four themes: classic, motorsports, innovation and lifestyle. These include lifestyle accessories, model cars, Formula One items, children's toys, golf items and a special limited edition corner.
DaimlerChrysler South East Asia president and ceo Frank Messer
said: "Singapore Changi airport has been chosen as the pilot base
to implement the first Mercedes-Benz boutique concept for Asia as
it is a major communications hub for the Asia-Pacific region.
Additionally, its track record as an award-winning airport with
sound infrastructure and solid support services will ensure that
the Mercedes-Benz boutique gets off to a good start.
"Our boutique is a window of opportunity to showcase the
Mercedes-Benz brand in an international arena and is a part of our
efforts to enhance our range of customer services. It will enable
customers of all ages to experience the world of
Mercedes-Benz."
