Two key appointments follow the retirement of finance and commercial director Tim Braithwaite

Maxxium Global Travel Retail (MGTR) has made two key appointments following the retirement of finance and commercial director Tim Braithwaite at the end of September. Laurent Cosson has been promoted to commercial director and Jeremy Chaplin has been promoted to finance director, both reporting to MGTR president Erik Juul-Mortensen.

Formerly MGTR Europe South and Middle East marketing manager, Cosson is based in the Maxxium worldwide head office in Amstelveen, the Netherlands. He is now responsible for the coordination of global marketing and commercial issues, including new brand development, business planning and reporting, exhibition participation, promotional events, advertising, promotions and public relations.

Chaplin will continue to be based in Stirling, Scotland, where he has until recently been Maxxium UK business planning manager. In his new role, Chaplin will be responsible for all financial aspects and disciplines in MGTR, including budgeting, forecasting, business planning and analysis, pricing control, IT and administration.

Juul-Mortensen said: "Under Tim’s inspired leadership and management, the Maxxium Global Travel Retail finance and commercial function has played a critical part in the success of the organisation, and Tim has played a fundamental role in the rapid development we have experienced. I want to thank Tim for his outstanding contribution to Maxxium; it has been a pleasure and a privilege to work with him. The promotion of Laurent and Jeremy to pivotal roles within the organisation underlines our commitment to the sustainable growth and healthy development of our partner brands within the duty-free and travel-retail markets worldwide."
