Maxxium confirmed as Absolut's duty-free distributor

Vin & Sprit (V&S) has confirmed that international distribution venture Maxxium will take on the distribution rights for the supplier's flagship brand Absolut Vodka in all duty-free markets outside the US. The news was expected after V&S signed a deal to become an equal partner in Maxxium, alongside Rémy Cointreau, Jim Beam Brands (JBB) and Highland Distillers.

Meanwhile, US regulators have approved V&S' joint venture with JBB for the distribution of both suppliers' brands on the US domestic market. The newly-created venture, called Future Brands LLC, will take on a portfolio including Absolut, Jim Beam and Knob Creek Bourbons and De Kuyper liqueurs. Following regulatory approval, the parties hope to begin joint distribution in June.
