Marks & Spencer Simply Food to open at Heathrow T5

The UK retailer’s dedicated high-quality food concept will be operated by leading travel caterer SSP’s UK airports division

Marks & Spencer is to open a Simply Food outlet at London Heathrow airport terminal five when it opens in March next year. The 2,500sq ft (232sq m) store will be positioned in the terminal’s arrivals hall, and will be operated by leading travel caterer SSP’s UK airports division, SSP Air UK.

 

The store’s range will include ready meals, fresh produce, sandwiches, salads and snacks. Shoppers will also be able to choose from a comprehensive selection of wine and champagne.

 

BAA head of category for food and beverage Catherine Peachey said: “The store will add to the exciting food and beverage offer available at the new terminal and we are pleased to be in partnership with such an established and trusted brand.”

 

Marks & Spencer Simply Food franchise manager Paul Horwell said: “We’re delighted to be opening a new Simply Food store at Heathrow’s T5, in a great location. We hope to provide busy travellers with high-quality food and drink for their journey at the airport, whether they are heading home or transferring to another flight.”

 

The company said that the new store would create 50 new jobs at the terminal.
