In a change to the senior management line-up at British Airways, Jill Manaton has assumed responsibility for all of the airline's inflight retail activities. With immediate effect, British Airways Enterprises retail director Chris Norris and his team reports into Manaton.

A BA spokesperson said: "This is a change of reporting lines internally. In all other respects it's business as usual for the retail activities of British Airways Enterprises."

Rick Wills, former head of British Airways Enterprises, which oversaw a wide-range of third-party activities such as the London Eye and inflight retail, is assuming other responsibilities. British Airways ceo Rod Eddington recently emphasised the key role of inflight duty-free to the airline in an exclusive interview with Duty-Free News International(February 1). "I am convinced that a well-executed duty-free service will continue to make an important contribution not only to BA's balance sheet but also to that all-important customer satisfaction," he said.
