The former Singapore Changi airport executive joins the Macquarie team as it seeks to build its Asian airport portfolio
Macquarie Capital Advisers has appointed former Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore assistant commercial director Jeffrey Loke as manager, effective immediately. In his role at Changi, Loke assisted in several key commercial projects, including the opening of the budget terminal, the renovation of terminal two and the opening of the new T3.
Loke will remain in Singapore, working from Macquarie’s regional office. Macquarie Airports associate director Doug Benham told DFNIonline that Loke would help identify and manage further commercial opportunities at Macquarie’s existing Asian airport portfolio, and in future projects.
At present Macquarie’s Asia/Pacific airport interests include a controlling stake at Sydney International airport, as well as a recently-acquired 19.9% strategic holding in Japan Airport Terminal Co, which operates Tokyo Haneda airport as well as duty-free operations at Tokyo Narita airport. Macquarie is understood to be keen to take a greater stake in the company but Japanese regulations at present prevent it from holding a controlling share.
