London Supply expands on Iguazu project
London Supply has revealed more details of its plans for the Puerto Iguazu Free Zone on the Argentina-Brazil border. Retail space will cover 3,000sq m (32,290sq ft). The complex officially opens in March 2001.
"We will go to all our principal suppliers to explain how we will be laying out the interior," said London Supply duty-free division director Francisco Heredia. "It will be in the style of our store at Punta del Este airport in Uruguay, but obviously bigger. It will represent one step further than Punta del Este. But we don't want it to be just a shopping destination. We want it to be a real tourist attraction."
The company is also hoping it will benefit from a roadshow, at present being undertaken in the US and Canada by the government of Misiones to promote tourism and investment in the region."Our president has had meetings with the governor of Misiones, and we hope to attract more people to the region," said Heredia. The company has also completed the renovation of the interior of its department store at Ushuaia, in the duty-free zone of Tierra del Fuego.
