As Latin American and international duty-free retailers prepare to bid for duty-free concessions in Mexico, airport authority ASUR (Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste) has announced the winner of the food and beverage contracts at Cancun, Merida and Cozumel airports.

Local company Controladora Mera has won a contract for 10 years, beginning on July 1. The company beat off local and international competition, including Host Marriott Services, Select Service Partner/Eurest and CA One Services.

Among the outlets proposed for the airports are Burger King, Pizza Hut, Market Station, TGI Friday's, Corona Beach Bar, Budweiser Sports Bar and a business lounge. Proposals for the duty-free contract, covering all three airports, are due on January 22.
