Layam wins Ovda International airport tender

The Sakal Group-owned company is to operate the duty-free store at Ovda for another five years

Layam Co has won a tender to operate the duty-free shop at Ovda International airport in Eilat. The Sakal Group-owned firm beat competition from James Richardson Duty Free to continue managing the store—which it has been operating for 15 years—for another five years. According to reports in the local press, Sakal said it would invest NIS1m ($252,145) to upgrade the 400sq m (4,305sq ft) outlet, which caters primarily to tourists from France, Russia, the UK and Scandinavian nations.
