LFP to open in Angola

The Portuguese joint-venture retailer confirms it is to operate a departures store at Luanda International airport

Portuguese travel retailer Lojas Francas de Portugal (LFP) has won the five-year contract to operate a departures duty-free store at Angola's Luanda International airport.

LFP retail operations director Luis de Carvalho confirmed to RavenFox.com that the operator, a joint venture between national airline TAP-Air Portugal subsidiary TAPGER and Swiss retailer The Nuance Group, will begin operating at the location from March.

LFP operates 18 shops across Faro, Porto and Lisbon airports and onboard TAP, Yes and Sata International airlines. The joint venture was founded in 1999 and generated turnover of Eu82.5m ($100.6m) in 2003.
