The retailer has renewed its concession agreement with airport authority ANA Aeroportos de Portugal
The Nuance Group’s Portuguese joint venture Lojas Francas de Portugal (LFP) has renewed its concession agreement with airport authority ANA Aeroportos de Portugal until December 2014. The company will continue to operate retail at six airports in Lisbon, Oporto, Faro and the Azores and “invest in exclusive products and services as well as in the use of new concepts”, according to a statement.
LFP managing director Nuno Amaral said the renewal “reflects the recognition by ANA that LFP is a profitable and credible partner which understands the particular needs of the national airports and is willing to invest with ANA to continually improve the airport retail offer in Portugal. Over the next six years, LFP plans to invest further in the development of its retail operations.”
ANA retail manager Antonio Luis Rodolfo added: “LFP is present at six airports managed by ANA and has a good understanding of the customer profile at each airport as well as good logistics and operational management, which is being stimulated by its new management team and the know-how of its shareholders The Nuance Group and TAP Portugal. This has enabled LFP to ensure a good level of service and an increasing profitability of the commercial space in recent years. We are also pleased that this partner is motivated and aligned with the strategic plans that ANA has for each of its airports.”
LFP rebranded its airport stores in 2008 under the Just for Travellers fascia. Two new concepts were also launched at Lisbon airport last year: The Best of Just for Travellers in the non-Schengen area and Last-Minute Just for Travellers, the airport’s first arrivals shop.
