CJ Group, South Korea's biggest food company, is to operate three very different catering concepts at Hong Kong International airport's new commercial centre
Airport Authority Hong Kong has added to its SkyPlaza catering line-up with three outlets from CJ Group, South Korea's biggest food and food services company. The concepts, Morninghaz, Sarangchae and CZen, will be the first Korean restaurants at Hong Kong International airport when the new facility opens in the third quarter of 2006. All the outlets will be situated on level five of the new building in the Gourmet Garden zone, near the check-in desks.
Morninghaz is described as a contemporary self-service and take-out café, offering a range of fresh fruit and vegetable juices, coffees, sandwiches and cakes. Sarangchae, housed in a colourful 6,200sq ft (576sq m) unit, will feature a selection of contemporary and traditional Korean grilled, stewed, fried and noodle dishes. The 3,000sq ft (279sq m) CZen noodle bar will offer Asian noodle dishes made with healthy and natural ingredients, using a unique "Noodle Matrix" ordering system that allows customers to mix and match types of noodles with a variety of sauces.
AAHK commercial director Hans Bakker said: "We are delighted to see the fabulous combination of contemporary and traditional Korean dining and cultural experiences coming to SkyPlaza. SkyPlaza will introduce a variety of exciting and innovative lifestyles for visitors all under one roof, and the CJ Group outlets are a key part of this theme."
The $2bn SkyPlaza project will eventually house over 130 outlets offering leisure, retail and catering services to an estimated 515,400 customers each day. The commercial offer will be spread out over 35,500sq m (381,980sq ft).
