Korean Air's inflight duty-free programme is gaining a boost from its new pre-ordering system, airline officials said yesterday.

According to the carrier, despite the 10% drop in overall sales, the number of pre-orders placed increased to 30,168 last year from 23,299 in 2000. This year, the figure stood at 10,513 during the first four months, a two-fold increase from 5,604 in the same period in 2001. Passengers can make their pre-orders on Korean Air's Web site at www.cyberskyshop.com or by telephone.
