Executive vice-president of merchandising Kirk Martin will retire from DFS Group at the end of June when his responsibilities will be assumed by merchandising president Michael Schriver and his team. DFS Group executive vice-president merchandising Kirk Martin is to retire at the end of June 2007 after 30 years at the company. He plans to establish his own consultancy and will be retained by DFS for a year to oversee the transition period.
President merchandising Michael Schriver said: Kirk has played a pivotal role on our merchandising team since he joined DFS in 1976 in Hong Kong. He moved to San Francisco when he was promoted to merchandise manager in fashion in 1985 and then was rewarded for his outstanding performance with increasingly challenging assignments in various categories.
As our brand partners and our merchandising team can attest, Kirk has been an important part of our success in developing our luxury strategy through his ability to develop and nurture important professional relationships over the years. Please join me in thanking Kirk for his many years of dedicated service to DFS and wishing him much success in his future endeavors.
Schriver and the merchandising team will assume Kirks responsibilities while the company searches for Kirks successor.
