Kipling launches UK subsidiary

Leathergoods company Kipling, founded in Antwerp in 1987, is continuing its European expansion with a new company to establish flagship stores and other prestigious retail locations with retail partners in the UK. Andrew Walker, CEO of the Kipling Group commented, "The opening of Kipling's new subsidiary in the UK is an important landmark in our European investment growth plan". Kipling was acquired by UBS Capital in 1999.

Over the last thirteen years Kipling has seen strong growth in sales of its casual bags, backpacks and school bags and the company is also becoming a trend-setter in footwear, clothing and accessories. Last year the brand had sales of Euros 210m ($178m) with 50 stand-alone stores and other points of sale in 44 countries.
