King Power unveils new look

King Power International Group Co has said the renovations of its new-look stores at Thailand's international airports will be complete in the first quarter of 2003

The company took over the running of the duty-free stores at all airports in January.

Plans are 80% complete in most locations, with a new mezzanine level set to open next month at Bangkok International T1, with the full store ready for completion in December.

King Power International Group chairman and ceo Vichai Raksriaksorn said turnover for the last three quarters was Baht6bn ($138m), an increase of 30% over last year. The 2002 sales total is forecast to be Baht9bn ($207m).

In the first half of the year, 6.2m tourists visited Thailand. Malaysians are the leading nationality, followed by Japanese, Chinese and Koreans.
