King Power close to securing Venetian Macau deal

The Hong Kong retailer is set to stake its place in Macau's rapidly emerging hotel duty-free and luxury retail market with several outlets at the Cotai Strip's anchor hotel
King Power Group Hong Kong has confirmed that it is close to finalising a deal for several outlets in the new Venetian Macau hotel, due to open in the island's Cotai Strip later this year. King Power managing director duty-free and travel-retail Sunil Tuli told DFNI Asia that the group was in the final stages of negotiations with hotel developer Las Vegas Sands Corp, and that outlets would include fashion boutiques and other branded and concept stores.The Venetian Macau will be the anchor hotel of the Cotai Strip, which is being marketed as an Asian version of the famous Las Vegas Strip. The development will include a hotel with 1,500 suites (rising to 3,000 in phase two of the project), a casino, a 1m sq ft (92,937sq m) convention centre, 15 restaurants, a 15,000-seat arena, a 2,000-seat showroom and a 600,000sq ft (55,762sq m) shopping mall.
Earlier in the year DFS Group signed an agreement with the Four Seasons Macau to open several outlets in the adjoining mall, including boutiques for Fendi, Gucci, Hermès, Christian Dior, Prada, Burberry, Salvatore Ferragamo, Cartier, Ermenegildo Zegna, Tods, Dunhill, Chaumet, Céline, Bvlgari, Chopard, Omega and Tag Heuer.
In other news, King Power Group has confirmed that it will bid for the multi-brand fashion concession currently being tendered at Singapore Changi terminal two. Tuli told DFNI Asia that the contract, currently held by DFS Group, was "key to [King Power's] strategy to expand in Singapore".
