Key speakers announced for MEDFA

Top-level executives from World Duty Free and Pernod Ricard are among the speakers at the December conference
The Middle East Duty Free Association (MEDFA) and Tax Free World Association (TFWA) have announced that World Duty Free and BAA global airport retail managing director Mark Riches and Pernod Ricard joint managing director Richard Burrows will head the list of speakers at the Middle East Duty Free Conference in December.Dubai Department of Civil Aviation president and Emirates Group chairman Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum and MEDFA president Colm McLoughlin will open the conference, after which TFWA will provide an update on the state of the global travel-retail industry.
Riches will reflect on "The Great Consumer Obsession" with Burrows providing a supplier's perspective on travel retailing in the Middle East.
American Express vice-president and general manager Europe, Middle East and North America Michael Edwards will look at the spending habits of Middle Eastern travellers. Other confirmed speakers include Aldeasa Jordan chief operating officer Pedro Castro and Jordanian Duty Free Shops general manager Haitham Al Majali.
Panel discussions will look at major developments in the air transport industry, developing intercultural competency in the workplace and technological aspects of improving retailing.
The conference, entitled "Understanding a Complex Market" will be held at Le Meridien hotel, Dubai on December 4-5.
