Leifur Eiríksson Air Terminal (LEAT) delays announcement on retail tender at Keflavik International airport

Airport authority Leifur Eiríksson Air Terminal (LEAT) has delayed the announcement of the winners for the Keflavik International airport retail tender, which was launched in September 2004. LEAT expects to announce the winners of the tender by January next year, marketing director Hrönn Ingólfsdóttir told RavenFox.com.

Although the new retail outlets are due to open for business in autumn 2006, Ingólfsdóttir said some retailers would not move in until 2007. LEAT is offering 1,150sq m (12,375sq ft) of space for categories not already operated by LEAT's retail subsidiary Duty Free Store, which sells liquor, tobacco, confectionery, cosmetics and electronics. The contracts will run for five to seven years with options to extend.
