As from the 15 October 2001, Kappé Distribution is acquiring the interests of Mimex Distribution (formerly Sparco International)

Kappé Distribution director, Bobo Lajovic, today said that "Although the travel-retail industry is experiencing extreme pressure following the recent tragic world events, we are very excited about this opportunity as it will strengthen the long-standing and successful relationship we have established with Luxottica, manufacturers of Ray-Ban."

Kappé also confirmed that Michael Wynne, formerly of Sparco International, and his consultancy business with Christine Murray, will represent Kappé globally for promoting Ray-Ban Elite sunglasses in the inflight sector. Wynne confirmed that a new Elite range is being finalised. He said he is looking forward to offering these products to existing and new airline customers. The activities will be handled by Travel Market Services, a subsidiary company of Kappé Distribution.

The companies said all existing customers will be contacted in the very near future regarding the minimal logistical changes occurring during the transition period.
