The Maxxium Global Travel Retail president retains his position at the head of the trade association

At the Tax Free World Association annual general meeting in Cannes this morning (November 3), Erik Juul-Mortensen was re-elected president of the association. The new Maxxium Global Travel Retail president has held the position at the head of TFWA since 1999.

The announcement was made at the closing press conference of the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes, where the organiser expressed its "astonishment" at the growth in visitor numbers. TFWA CEO Andrew Ford said that visitors to Thursday had been up by 16% on 2004 figures, but suggested that the final figure would be closer to 5%.
