Jones Apparel Group acquires Judith Jack
Jones Apparel Group has acquired Judith Jack, the manufacturer and distributor of women's jewellery, including marcasite and sterling silver products. The company will operate as a division of Victoria & Co, the existing jewellery company within the Jones Apparel Group. Judith Jack reported sales of $22m in 2000.
Jones Apparel Group chairman Sidney Kimmel commented: "The
acquisition of Judith Jack adds one of the premier designer brand
names in the jewellery industry to our existing portfolio. We are
extremely pleased with the results to date of our
Victoria & Co business which we acquired in July 2000."
Head of the Victoria & Co international division David Batchelor said: "The positioning of Judith Jack jewellery is extremely select and consequently its place in travel-retail has to be defined carefully. Nevertheless, there's real potential there and we're looking forward to introducing the brand to our travel-retail partners, where it's appropriate."
- Jones Apparel Group is a leading designer, licensee and supplier of fashion and accessories brands including Jones New York, Polo Ralph Lauren, Todd Oldham, Nine West and others. The company also markets jewellery licensed under the Tommy Hilfiger and Givenchy brands.
