Jayawardena to close ARC 2011 Asia/Pacific conference

The King Power Traveler founder and president will deliver a talk focusing on Airlines and suppliers working in partnership
Organisers of the Airline Retail Conference (ARC) 2011 Asia/Pacific have announced that King Power Traveler founder and president Rakhita Jayawardene is to deliver the closing keynote address at the conference, which will take place at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Macau on January 11-12.
Jayawardena (pictured) who has managed and operated more than 40 airline concession and supply service contracts globally will focus his presentation on the subject of "Airlines and suppliers working in partnership."
Other confirmed speakers include DragonAir general manager inflight services Cecilia Leung who will lead a panel exploring why airlines reject some products and rejoice at others, L’Oréal Travel Retail regional manager Europe Augustin Bondonneau, who will be part of a session discussing how to promote inflight retail as a sales channel to consumers and Microsoft Zune senior business development manager Dave McLaughlan, who will offer delegates a presentation on new ways of monetising inflight entertainment (IFE) systems. Additional speakers are AirAsia X CEO Azran Osman Rani, Nok Air CEO Patee Sarasin and Mango Aviation Partners principal Steven Greenway.
ARC event director Alex Vail said: "We are thrilled that Rakhita has agreed to speak at the event. His is well-respected as a true pioneer in the inflight retail industry and we are all excited to hear his views on partnerships between suppliers and airlines."
