JTI to make Singapore show debut

The supplier of Winston, Camel, Mild Seven and Salem cigarettes will make its first appearance at TFWA Asia Pacific

Japan Tobacco International is to exhibit for the first time at TFWA Asia Pacific in May. The company markets its cigarette brands in more than 160 countries, and is to feature its flagship brands Mild Seven, Salem, Winston and Camel in a hospitality suite at the Singapore Suntec Centre on May 16-19, said Asia duty-free manager Koichi Hamada.

"JTI is pleased to announce that it will be participating at the event, said Hamada. "It will provide another opportunity to foster and strengthen relationships with all our Asia/Pacific retail partners in one location, and to further discuss our plans for the year."

Sixteen tobacco companies have confirmed their participation at the event so far, representing 8% of the total 190 exhibiting companies, compared to just 4% at last year's TFWA World Exhibition. Fragrance and cosmetic companies are the largest category at the Singapore event with 28%, followed by fashion, jewellery and liquor companies at 16% each.
