The design consultancy has won a contract to brand and plan the retail space in terminal C and the new terminal D, for which the airport is seeking retail partners

Design firm JHP is overseeing the retail planning of Toulouse-Blagnac airport’s new terminal D, scheduled to open in May 2009. The airport is also seeking retail tenants to operate kiosks and shops in the new terminal’s 1,600sq m (17,216sq ft) commercial area.

JHP said that the shops in the new terminal will be arranged in a horse-shoe shape around a central seating area featuring sofas and easy chairs. The terminal commercial area will be branded—with La Place Toulouse one possible name—and the brand will appear on shopping bags, signage and information points.

The company will also be rebranding the shops in terminal C, and is planning to use a pink light installation to guide passengers between the two terminals, playing on Toulouse’s nickname of the Pink City.

Toulouse-Blagnac airport is seeking expressions of interest from retailers hoping to operate in terminal D. Companies must send a letter to the airport, including a descriptive summary of their business and its activities; a financial plan of the company; professional references; the company’s results for the past three years; and an Extrait Kbis (registration certificate from the French commerce ministry).

The letter should be sent to: Aéroport Toulouse-Blagnac, Bâtiment La Passerelle 2eme étage, Direction des Opérations, Service Développement Commercial & Immnobilier, BP 90 103 – 31703 BLAGNAC CEDEX, France

The deadline for expressions of interest is 4pm local time on February 18.
