The new JetBlue Airways terminal five at New York JFK airport will feature a 55,000sq ft (5,109sq m) marketplace area
US carrier JetBlue Airways has revealed that New York JFK airport terminal five, due to open in October, will feature a 55,000sq ft (5,109sq m) marketplace area with 25 stores and 22 food and beverage outlets. The duty-free shops will be operated by New York-based retailer International Shoppes, with other retail concessions to be managed by companies such as The Paradies Shops and Stellar Partners. The new terminal will offer 50% more concession space than the airline’s current home at T6.
In addition to several themed news and convenience stores, the terminal will feature a full-sized Borders bookstore, an ExOfficio travel clothing shop, a Lacoste outlet, a Muji to Go concept, a Techshowcase electronics store and an XpresSpa offering a variety of treatments to travellers passing through T5.
JetBlue Airways vice-president corporate real estate George Sauer said: “T5 will provide JetBlue customers with extensive and unique options for dining and shopping. The T5 concession and retail partners were carefully selected after a rigorous application process to provide our customers with a variety of options and superior services. These high-quality consumer options bring the award-winning, inflight JetBlue amenities and experience to the airport.”
