Scotch whisky supplier Inver House Distillers has been purchased by Pacific Spirits, a division of the Great Oriole Group. Great Oriole, based in the British Virgin Islands, has wide interests in spirits and beer and is especially strong in the Asia/Pacific market.

Graham Stevenson, who remains managing director of Inver House, commented: "It will be pretty much business as usual as there will be no direct management involvement from Pacific Spirits. Inver House will continue to be run by the same executive management and will continue to be independent. We will work closely with the rest of the group seeking to develop our business in markets where the larger group has particular strengths."

Inver House's portfolio includes the malt whiskies Old Pulteney, Balblair, Speyburn, Balmenach and An Cnoc. The company also supplies Heather Cream liqueur.
