International travel may rise by 5.3% in 2007

Africa will experience highest passenger traffic growth, while North America will have the lowest

Air passenger forecast company Air4casts has predicted that international passenger traffic will grow by 5.3% in 2007, while domestic traffic will increase by 3.7%. Overall, world air travel will rise by 4.3%.

 

Over the course of the year demand for international travel is most likely to fall, from 6% in the first three months to 5% by December. On the other hand, domestic demand is more likely to rise, from 2.7% in the first quarter to 4.6% by the fourth.

 

Air4Casts predicts that Africa will experience the highest growth at 8%, followed by Asia/Pacific at 6.5%, Europe at 5.4% and Latin America at 5.3%. North America is likely to experience the lowest growth rate of 1.7% in 2007.
