Twelve companies have registered interest in the 27 speciality concessions at Miami International airport

Miami International airport has received responses from 12 companies with 18 different proposals for its speciality retail concessions. The deadline for requests for proposals (RFP) was March 10.

The RFP included 10 news and gift stores, 10 speciality shops and six direct lease packages for seven lots. The new space is mainly located in the new south terminal with limited areas in the north terminal and will be ready for occupancy over the next year. Contracts run for eight years with an option to extend for a further two years. A decision on the winners is expected in April.

Commercial operations manager Patricia Ryan told RavenFox.com: "We are still reviewing the proposals and hope to convene the selection committee within the next month.  Immediately following the public meeting of the committee and any presentations, the recommendations will be completed."
