The Argentinian operator has opened the first of its new walk-through arrivals stores at Buenos Aires' main airport
Argentinian operator InterBaires has opened a new 480sq m (5,165sq ft) arrivals shop at Buenos Aires Ezeiza International airport terminal A. As reported in DFNI April 15, the new outlet is situated directly after passport control and arriving passengers must walk though the store before reclaiming their luggage. Construction work at a second arrivals store continues and is scheduled to be finished early in November.
InterBaires CEO Enrique Urioste told RavenFox.com: "The new store will bring in new business for the company and further add to the sales increases we have achieved this year." Arrivals sales account for approximately 35% of the retailer's total business.
According to Urioste, sales at InterBaires increased by 26.1% during the first nine months of the year. "Our sales increase is substantially ahead of the increase in passenger traffic—at 15.3%—and we hope that the two new stores will help us consolidate sales growth in the fourth quarter."
