Inflight Service agrees Helsinki airport purchasing contract

8-May-2003

Scandinavian company Inflight Service has agreed a new deal to purchase duty-free goods for Helsinki airport retailer Helsinki Airport Duty Free, owned by Finland's Civil Aviation Administration

Inflight Service managing director Peter Candell told DFNI: "The contract covers three stores: one in the Schengen area, one in non-Schengen and one in the domestic area. It's an exciting development for us."

Inflight Service's main duty-free business is with charter airlines and increasingly, ferries.

The main operator at Helsinki is Finnair. Finnair is also the main airline operating out of Helsinki. Others include SAS and a new carrier, Air Finland, with which Inflight Service has also struck a purchasing deal.
