About 55,000sq ft (5,112sq m) of retail space will be available for concessionaires

Indianapolis International airport has issued a Request for Letters of Interest (RLI) for retail locations to be made available as part of its $1.1bn expansion project, scheduled to open in November 2008. The development consists of a 1.2m sq ft (111,648sq m) new terminal building that includes around 25,000sq ft (2,322sq m) of landside retail at the Civic Plaza area and 30,000sq ft (2,787sq m) of airside space divided between two concourses. The RLI covers specialty retail, news and gift, food and beverage and service concessions.

More than 200 retailers and caterers attended a concession outreach meeting in July, as previously reported. A pre-response conference will take place on October 25. All proposals are due on November 15, and the airport will negotiate contractual terms and conditions with successful respondents until the parties reach an agreement. More information and the complete RLI can be found on the airport’s website.
