Airports Authority of India is to allow direct foreign investment in duty-free outlets for the first time

Airports Authority of India is to allow direct foreign investment in duty-free outlets for the first time. International operators will now be eligible to bid in the authority's current round of tenders without the aid of a local partner, a situation that has hitherto been avoided to shelter domestic retailers from stronger overseas companies.
