The executive vice-president of Inter Duty Free Dominicana died last week

Miguel Angel García Moriones, executive vice-president of Dominican Republic duty-free operator Inter Duty Free since the company's establishment in 1995, passed away last week alter a long battle against cancer.

García Moriones started in the duty-free business in the mid-1980s with Spanish travel retailer Aldeasa, eventually becoming director of international business. In 1991 García Moriones left Aldeasa's Spanish headquarters to head Aldeasa Dominicana, a joint venture between Aldeasa and Santo Domingo-based Grupo Intercontinental. In 1994 Intercontinental bought Aldeasa's share in the joint venture and a year later set up Inter Duty Free as an independent company with García Moriones at the helm.

All at Raven Fox extend our sincere condolences to Miguel Angel's family, friends and colleagues in the travel-retail industry.
