The US inflight concessionaire secures its first contract with a European airline

Duty Free World (DFW) has signed a five-year contract for the retail concession on board European airline Iberia. The contract will begin in July 2007 and will cover more than 100,000 flights. Iberia previously ran its retail programme in-house.

DFW president and CEO Mayra del Valle said: “The new business is very exciting for us. The airline covers a diverse mix of passengers and has great potential.”

DFW COO Leylani Cardoso added: “Iberia’s enthusiasm about building the business makes this opportunity unprecedented. From day one there will be obvious distinctions such as a publication that is separate from the airline’s inflight magazine.”

DFW’s other clients include United Airlines, USAirways, Skyservice, Tame, Maxjet, America West, Santa Barbara, Aeropostal, Icaro, Aerogal, and Futura.
