Fraport appoints tenants to its landside B shopping lounge at Frankfurt airport
Hugo Boss and Nike top the list of brands that will populate Frankfurt airport's new-look terminal one pier B landside shopping lounge, the first phase of which opens later this year.
The former Skyline Arcade, in landside area B east, is being remodelled to include brands that appeal to a younger clientele. The tenants are Nike, German fashion brand Bree, The Body Shop, Hachette Distribution Services' newsstand brand Relay, Burresi fashion, Christ jewellery and watches, fashion concept More & More, Pfend Airport Opticians, food and beverage concept Kaefers and Starbucks Coffee, the first at Frankfurt airport. This area will open by the end of 2005.
In the adjacent landside-B west area, the former Ladengalerie, the tenants are Boss fashion and accessories, Burresi fashion, German fashion brand Strenesse, coffee house Segafredo and a pharmacy.
Fraport senior manager retail and properties Christian Sueltemeyer told RavenFox.com: "Among the highlights are the 230sq m (2,470sq ft) Nike store and the Boss shop, which will feature all the brand's many product lines including Hugo, Boss Woman, Hugo Boss, Green Label. At around 260sq m (2,800sq ft) this shop should be the brand's biggest in global travel-retail."
The landside development is the first phase in a five-year project that will increase Frankfurt airport's retail space from 14,500sq m (156,000sq ft) to 25,000sq m (269,000sq ft).
In August, a new Boss branded accessories corner will also open in the biggest duty-free store in terminal two. "Boss is one of the strongest brand names in fashion and generates the biggest turnover in our multi-brand Catwalk concept stores in T1 and T2," said Sueltemeyer. "And we're very satisfied with the way Boss works with [anchor Travel Value and duty-free retailer] Gebr Heinemann here at Frankfurt."
Finally, an extension to Heinemann's Travel Value outlet in the pier B Schengen area is scheduled for the end of this year or early 2006.
