Hudson Group opens lifestyle concept Life Is Good at two Californian airports

Hudson Group has launched fashion brand Jake at two US airports. The first store opened at Los Angeles International airport (LAX) earlier in the month. The second store, a temporary outlet at John Wayne/Orange County airport, opened shortly after. Both stores are called Celebrate Life: Life is Good.

A Hudson Group spokesperson said that the 500sq ft (46sq m) LAX store represented part of Hudson’s $2m investment programme “as part of our commitment to modernise the airport’s retail concessions.”

Life is Good will be moving from its temporary outlet at John Wayne/Orange County in the near future into a permanent site.

The single-concept stores feature a cartoon character Jake, his dog Rocket and other members of their cartoon entourage participating in a variety of sports such as kayaking, golf, surfing, rock climbing, running and hiking.

Hudson Group executive vice-president and chief operating officer Joe DiDomizio said: “We have experienced great success with this brand in every airport where we have opened stores—Chicago Midway, Atlanta Hartsfield and Nashville. We have several other locations under construction, set to open soon. And airports keep calling us to inquire how they can add Life Is Good to their retail line-ups.”
