Airport retailer The Hudson Group announced it has won the news/gift concession at Halifax International airport. The three Hudson News stores will be part of the themed Canadian Marketplace at the airport, two located airside plus a larger outlet landside. The Hudson contract is for a five year term with renewal options.

The Hudson News concept is a winner of the Airport Retail News best news/gift concept for the past three years. Executive Vice President for the Hudson Group, Joseph DiDomizio, told TRW: "We will be in meetings later this month to decide the handover date which should be early or late fall. We look forward to introducing the business and leisure travellers that utilise Halifax to Hudson News. This is our first Canadian location and a model that we intend to expand."

The Hudson Group has airport retail locations at approximately 20 US airports including Dallas/Fort Worth, Atlanta Hartsfield, New York JFK, Boston Logan and Washington airports.
