Hudson Group is to open four new stores at Richmond airport

North American retailer Hudson Group has won the concession for four news, gift and speciality retail outlets at Richmond International airport in Virginia.

The biggest of the multi-concept stores—Hudson News, Hudson Booksellers, Kids Works and destination merchandise outlet Discover Virginia—will be situated in the airport's main atrium. The smaller shops will be in concourses A and B.

Richmond International airport CEO Jon Mathiasen said: "We are excited to bring the package to the airport. Hudson Group's news-stands and speciality shops will complement our extensive selection of concessions. In addition, the multi-store configuration will enhance the satisfaction, convenience and overall experience of our passengers."

Hudson Group executive vice-president Joseph DiDomizio said: "The anchor store will offer something for everyone—a wide range of magazine and book titles; nationally-branded children's merchandise from Dora the Explorer to Spiderman; and products from local museums and cultural institutions."

The shops will be run by AMS–NIA Richmond JV, a joint venture between Hudson Group and local operator Nia Corp.
