Hudson Group to open 13 new shops at JFK T4
Five fashion boutiques are among the new outlets set to open between May and October at New York John F Kennedy International airport terminal four
Travel retailer Hudson Group is leading a joint venture that will open 13 new stores at New York John F Kennedy International airport terminal four as part of the location’s expansion and improvement of the existing concessions programme. This includes five fashion speciality concepts, seven Hudson travel essentials stores and a Discover New York souvenir shop, set to open in three phases between May and October.
The five fashion concepts include a Michael Kors boutique offering handbags and accessories; a Coach New York outlet selling handbags, small leathergoods and accessories; a Thomas Pink store offering shirts for men and women, ties and accessories in what is only the second airport location for the brand in the US; a Victoria’s Secret beauty and accessories store that will replace the smaller, existing store (pictured) open since 2009; and sunglasses concept Solstice, which offers designer and sport performance eyewear from brands including Bvlgari, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Donna Karan, Oakley, Prada, Ralph Lauren, Ray-Ban and Versace.
Terminal operator JFK IAT president Alain Maca said: “One of the key benefits of T4’s redevelopment for passengers is the shift to a post-security selling environment, so that passengers can shop at their leisure. Hudson’s team has worked closely with our group to deliver a world-class programme that will appeal to our diverse passenger mix.”
Hudson Group President and CEO Joe DiDomizio added: “Hudson first became part of the terminal’s concession programme shortly after the opening of the new T4 back in 2001, and I am grateful to JFKIAT’s management for having the confidence in Hudson to allow us to play a major role in this dynamic project. We are delighted that we have been entrusted with delivering upscale brands along with our new Hudson concept. The new programme expands the total number of stores we operate in T4 from 10 to 14.”
Hudson has partnered with JME Group, an Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise firm, for this project.
