Retailer Hudson Group has partnered with US television channel CMT to offer a new regional concept at Nashville International airport. CMT Loot is targeted at lovers of country music and offers branded clothes, CDs, DVDs and other Nashville memorabilia to travellers.
Hudson already has several shops at the airport, including a Hudson News/Hudson Booksellers/Papyrus combination store, a CNN Newstand, a Kids Works/Nashville Zoo at Grandmere combination outlet and a Sunglass Hut store. The company expects to open two new outlets this week: a Hudson News/Hudson Booksellers/Papyrus/Sony BMG combination store and an In Celebration of Golf/Life is Good combination concept.
Hudson Group executive vice-president and COO Joseph DiDomizio said: “Located next to our Discover Nashville store, CMT Loot celebrates the culture and music that make Nashville great. The store design utilises the latest retailing techniques to reach customers, including personal listening stations and giant plasma screens, in an authentic setting complete with stage outfits from the great designer Manuel. The airport authority has done a great job in envisaging an exciting new retail programme, and the CMT Loot/Discover Nashville store is early evidence of what is yet to come. Throughout the airport, our new stores will create a shopping experience for departing travellers that they will long remember, one that recalls all the great cultural elements that Nashville is famous for.”
CMT executive vice-president and general manager Brian Philips added: “With the aid of Hudson Group’s experienced retailing professionals, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority is creating a vibrant airport that reflects Nashville’s essence as a travel destination, and we are proud to be part of that new retail community.”
