Airport authority and retailer Helsinki Airport Duty Free has opened an 80sq m arrivals store in Vantaa's Schengen terminal

Helsinki Vantaa expanded its arrivals shop business with the opening a new outlet serving Schengen passengers earlier this month.

As revealed in DFNI February 15, the new shop, which is located in baggage claim hall two, sells fragrances, cosmetics, confectionery, toys and other gift items at duty-free prices. It is operated by the airport's own retail division, Helsinki Airport Duty Free, which recently opened another arrivals store at the airport targeted at long-haul passengers arriving from non-Schengen countries.

Helsinki Vantaa airport director Ari Tulensalo said: "The new arrivals shop is a welcome addition to services for incoming passengers. It provides additional convenience for those passengers waiting for baggage and for international passengers arriving in Finland."

Helsinki Vantaa airport handled a record 11m passengers last year, a 4% increase on 2004.
