Hellenic Distribution, a subsidiary of Hellenic Duty Free Shops, will open ten shops onboard the ships of Greek ferry operator Minoan Flying Dolphins, sources close to the deal told TRW. Flying Dolphins (renamed Hellas Flying Dolphins) claims to be the largest Greek shipping operator, with routes in the Argosaronikos, Cyclades and Sporades island complexes. The company is a direct competitor of Superfast Ferries, where Weitnauer holds the onboard sales concession.

Hellenic Distribution will also open five new shops in arrivals at five regional airports. They are in the Cretan town of Hania, in Crete's capital Iraklion, on the island of Kos, on the island of Kerkyra and in Thessaloniki.

Hellenic Distribution was founded in May 2001 to expand Hellenic Duty Free Shops, which is the registered trading name to operate airport departures stores.
