Gebr Heinemann has revealed details of its new operations at Tirana International airport, where it holds the duty-free contract in partnership with Albanian Duty Free Distribution

Gebr Heinemann has revealed details of its new store at Tirana International airport, where it holds the seven year duty-free contract in partnership with Albanian Duty Free Distribution.

Its 150sq m (1,614sq ft) duty-free store at Tirana’s new terminal is designed to reflect the requirements of the modern passenger.  Business strategy director Jens Degner said:”The new store's furniture is predominantly made of natural woods contributing to a warm and relaxing shopping atmosphere. Heinemann's experience of duty-free shows that new products, special offers and airport specials catch the attention of the customers and are important factors in  the customers' puchasing decision. Therefore Heinemann has established these landmarks in the new duty-free shop at Tirana airport.”

He added: “The new duty-free shop represents the ideal platform for Gebr Heinemann's strategy to generate continued growth through the creation of a unique retail environment at the new terminal building, thereby establishing a long-term relationship with the customers.”

Tirana is the country’s only international airport and in 2006 it welcomed more than 900,000 passengers, up 15.5% on the previous year.
