The German retailer has won the recent tender to supply duty-free products for Skopje and Ohrid airports

German travel retailer Gebr Heinemann has retained its duty-free supply contracts for the shops at Skopje and Ohrid airports in the former Yugoslav republic of Macedonia, the Public Enterprise for Airport Services (PEAS) told DFNIonline. Although the tender documents specified that the airport authority could select more than one bidder for the supply contracts, Heinemann will remain the sole provider of liquor, tobacco and beauty items at the airports.

PEAS operates retail directly at Skopje and Ohrid, which recorded passenger traffic of 626,644 and 45,515 respectively in 2007. Revenues from duty-free operations at Skopje airport reached €940,000 ($1.45m) in 2006.
