**EXCLUSIVE** Belorussian duty-free operator Somlen, supplied exclusively by Gebr Heinemann, has opened a new self-service store in Minsk airport's departures area

Somlen, which has been operating at Minsk since 1995, closed its older kiosk operation and revamped its operation under Heinemann's supervision.

Minsk airport director general Grigory Shkura officially opened the new open plan store on December 20. Gebr Heinemann senior sales manager Michael Rogers paid tribute to Somlen's professionalism in introducing a western style duty-free store to the country's airport duty-free market. He also praised another Heinemann partner Helen & Valery, which has opened a new border store on the Lithuanian border and plans to expand its frontier operations in the next year.
