The Famous Grouse Spanish Oak is on sale exclusively at the German travel retailer’s stores

Liquor distributor Maxxium Global Travel Retail (MGTR) has announced that a new product in the Famous Grouse range is available only at Gebr Heinemann stores. The Famous Grouse Spanish Oak special edition is exposed to first-fill Spanish sherry oak casks for longer, giving it what the supplier described as a “lightly spicy character with rich seasonal flavours of dried fruits, vanilla and toffee”. The limited edition is on sale for €16 ($23.90).

The Famous Grouse brand owner The Edrington Group area director global travel-retail William Ovens said: “We have been very impressed with the focus Gebr Heinemann gives travel-retail exclusive products in their stores. Our view, and that of our distributors MGTR, was that Gebr Heinemann would be an ideal operator to offer this wonderfully rich, sherried version of The Famous Grouse. We are continually looking at ways of innovating and developing our brands, which will have a real resonance with operators and consumers alike.”

According to MGTR, The Famous Grouse is one of Heinemann’s top-selling Scotch whiskies and the fastest growing in global duty-free and travel-retail.
