The company takes over the carrier's inflight programme

Habchi & Chalhoub begins its contract for inflight retail with Kuwait Airways today, just three weeks after agreeing to take over the business.

Habchi & Chalhoub managing director Anthony Chalhoub told ravenfox.com: "Our stock was onboard from the midnight flight last night. We have had to put everything in place in just three weeks but we have managed to create a good programme in that time."

Previous incumbent Tourvest had claimed the contract was difficult to make money on, but Chalhoub said: "We're in it to make money and we will make money with Kuwait Airways. We are too busy with our domestic marekt activities and with our Egyptian business to do anything that will lose money."

Habchi & Chalhoub ends its tenure as Kuwait Duty Free concessionaire in February, when it will be repalced by Aldeasa and partner That Al Salassel.
