HMSHost wins new San Antonio locations

US airport retailer HMSHost has been awarded additional spaces in San Antonio International airport after a six-month bid

The spaces will be developed as a combined Simply Books and Starbucks bookstore cafe plus food & beverage outlets and a sports bar. The contract is expected to generate revenues of $16m over the life of the agreement. HMS Host said its Simply Books concept is the only airport bookstore in the continental US to offer Starbucks coffee and merchandise.

Also this week HMS Host announced its vice president of government affairs Linda Moore has received a special award from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) at the recent Airport Business Diversity Conference in Atlanta. The award recognises Moore's achievements in the participation of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE's) in airport concessions and construction. Moore is responsible for developing and directing HMSHost's business diversity strategy and advises senior management on legislative and regulatory issues.
