The travel retailer has opened a luxury store and a convenience outlet in addition to five restaurants

Retail operator HMSHost has announced the opening of seven new shops and restaurants at Charlotte Douglas International airport. Luxury boutique World Passage offers products which were previously only available to duty-free passengers, such as beauty items from Lancôme and Christian Dior, Samsonite luggage and Godiva chocolates. Liquor and tobacco products are also available in the store, which is located at the airport’s main terminal. The retailer also opened a Charlotte News Connection convenience store at Concourse E, offering newspapers, magazines, books, snacks and general sundries.

Among the new restaurants, the highlights are local favourite Bojangles’ Famous Chicken ‘n Biscuits in Concourse B and fruit and vegetable juice bar Zia in Concourse E. A Rum Bar & Grill outlet offering Bacardi-flavoured menu items will open at the end of June in Concourse D.

Charlotte Douglas International airport aviation director Jerry Orr said: “Bojangles’ unique Southern menu has a tremendous loyal customer base in its hometown of Charlotte. Now, our travelers are cheering the availability of Bojangles’ at the airport as well as these new popular restaurant and retail brands brought to us by HMSHost. They are excellent additions to our existing airport concessions program.”

HMSHost senior vice-president business development Pat Banducci said: “Charlotte Douglas International airport continues to offer travellers an excellent variety of dining and shopping brands, making it a destination all its own that definitely makes the traveller’s day better.”
